Beacon Award

Every business will be entered into this award. The Beacon Award winner will be a local business that is, in the opinion of the judging panel, the best entry across all categories. The winning business will be a beacon of inspiration for us all. This award is sponsored by lovelocalsolutions.

Customer Friendly Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judges, the most customer friendly Ribble Valley business nominated this year. We will only accept nominations from customers of the business for this award. This award is sponsored by Ribble Valley Borough Council.

Food & Drink Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judges, the best food and/or drink based business in Ribble Valley nominated this year. This award is sponsored by Mind & Business Consultants.

Health & Beauty Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judges, the best health and/or beauty based business in Ribble Valley nominated this year. This award is sponsored by Pure Perfection Beauty.

Independent Retailer

The winner of this award will be the best Ribble Valley independent retailer nominated this year, in the opinion of the judging panel. This award is open to any independent retailers who operate traditional retail outlet(s) or sell directly to the consumer via direct mail, farmers markets, etc and/or retail online. This award is sponsored by Empress Fencing.

Innovation

The winner of this award will be a nominated Ribble Valley business that, in the opinion of the judges, has been the most innovative over the last 12 months. The award is open to all business types. This award is sponsored by DSM Chartered Accountants.

Large Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based large business nominated this year. Open to businesses with a turnover of £1m+. This award is sponsored by Forbes Solicitors.

Made in Ribble Valley

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the best product or service which has been Made or created in the Ribble Valley. Open to all businesses regardless of time they have traded. This award is sponsored by Printed Cup Company.

Medium Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based medium business nominated this year. Open to businesses with a turnover between £251K-£1m. This award is sponsored by NORI HR & Employment Law.

Micro Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based microbusiness nominated this year. Open to businesses with between 2 and 5 employees. This award is sponsored by BEK Enviro Ltd.

New Business

The winner of this award will be a new Ribble Valley based business (started trading since September 1st 2020) that, in the opinion of the judging panel, has been the most successful start-up. This award is sponsored by Silverwoods Waste Management Ltd.

Small Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based small business nominated this year. Open to businesses with between 6 and 19 employees. This award is sponsored by Harrison Drury.

Social Media Champion

NEW FOR 2022! The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the Ribble Valley business that is making the best use of social media to create awareness and attract customers, and engage with their followers. This new award is sponsored by Wardrobe by Simone.

Sole Trader

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley business with only 1 person in the business (the owner) nominated this year. Their business will have traded for 2 or more years. This award is open for sponsorship.

Tourism

The winner of this award will be a Ribble Valley based attraction, business or event associated with the tourism, hospitality or leisure sector that has, in the opinion of the judging panel, made an outstanding contribution to Ribble Valley’s visitor economy in the last year. This award is sponsored by Inch Perfect Trials.

Workforce Development Award

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the Ribble Valley organisation that has best demonstrated a commitment to developing their workforce. This award is sponsored by Nelson & Colne College Group.

Artisan Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the best artisan or craft business nominated this year. This category includes businesses and creative individuals who demonstrate and apply their skill, ranging from food products to music, craft drinks to art etc, but they must use traditional methods or craft by hand. This award is open to any artisan business, regardless of size or how long it has been trading. This award is open for sponsorship.

B2B Business

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the best business that mainly works with other businesses (80% or more of their turnover will be from other businesses) that has been nominated this year. This award is open for sponsorship.

Creative Business

The winner of this award will be the most creative business based in Ribble Valley. This award is open to any creative business, regardless of how long it has been trading. This award is open for sponsorship.

Part Time Business

The winner of this award will be the best part-time Ribble Valley business nominated this year. This award is open for sponsorship.

Not For Profit

The winner of this award will be a nominated Ribble Valley based not for profit business or social enterprise that has, in the opinion of the judging panel, implemented and used innovative practices and approaches to meet community and public service objectives in the last year. This award is open for sponsorship.
