Welcome to Ribble Valley Business Awards

The Ribble Valley Business Awards celebrate the businesses and individuals that make the Ribble Valley such a wonderful place to live, work and visit. The awards are run by the Enterprising People group along with other organisations across the Ribble Valley. Ribble Valley Business Awards 2021 is now open for nominations! Click the Nominate Now button to nominate your favourite Ribble Valley businesses. Nominations can be made until midnight on Thursday 4 February. The 2021 awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 24 March either virtually via Facebook Live, or live at Stirk House, restrictions permitting. 

The 2021 awards will focus on the ways businesses rose to meet the challenges brought by the pandemic and new ways of working that were developed. Ribble Valley Business Awards 2021 – Awards & Sponsors

Beacon Award

 

Every business will be entered into this award. The Beacon Award winner will be a local business that is, in the opinion of the judging panel, the best entry across all categories. The winning business will be a beacon of inspiration for us all. This award is sponsored by Enterprising People.

 

Customer Friendly Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judges, the most customer friendly Ribble Valley business nominated this year. We will only accept nominations from customers of the business for this award. This award is sponsored by Clitheroe Chamber of Commerce and Trade.

 

Food & Drink Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judges, the best food and/or drink based business in Ribble Valley nominated this year. This award is sponsored by lovelocalnetworking.

 

Health & Beauty Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judges, the best health and/or beauty based business in Ribble Valley nominated this year. This award is sponsored by Pure Perfection Beauty.

 

Independent Retailer

 

The winner of this award will be the best Ribble Valley independent retailer nominated this year, in the opinion of the judging panel. This award is open for any independent retailers who operate traditional retail outlet(s) or sell directly to the consumer (via direct mail, farmers markets, etc.) and/or retail online. Innovation

 

The winner of this award will be a nominated Ribble Valley business that, in the opinion of the judges, has been the most innovative over the last 12 months. The award is open to all business types. This award is sponsored by DSM Chartered Accountants.

 

Large Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based large business nominated this year. Open to businesses with a turnover of £1m+. This award is sponsored by Forbes Solicitors.

 

Made in Ribble Valley
The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the best product or service which has been made or created in the Ribble Valley. Open to all businesses regardless of time they have traded. This award is sponsored by Houldsworth Solicitors.

 

Medium Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based medium business nominated this year. Open to businesses with a turnover between £251K-£1m. This award is sponsored by Forbes Solicitors.

 

Micro Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based microbusiness nominated this year. Open to businesses with between 2 and 5 employees. This award is sponsored by Ribble Valley Borough Council.

 

New Business

 

The winner of this award will be a new Ribble Valley based business (started trading since April 1st 2017) that, in the opinion of the judging panel, has been the most successful start-up. This award is sponsored by Silverwoods Waste Management Ltd.

 

Small Business

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley based small business nominated this year. Open to businesses with between 6 and 19 employees. This award is sponsored by Harrison Drury.

 

Sole Trader

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the most successful and sustainable Ribble Valley business with 1 employee (the owner) nominated this year. Their business will have traded for 2 or more years. This award is sponsored by BEK Enviro.

 

Workforce Development Award

 

The winner of this award will be, in the opinion of the judging panel, the Ribble Valley organisation that has best demonstrated a commitment to developing their workforce. This award is sponsored by Nelson & Colne College Group.
